We usually reply within 1–2 business days. Please include your Chrome version and, for recording issues, whether you were using WebM or MP4.
Common issues
Chrome crashed / laptop died during a recording. Nothing is lost: reopen the popup and you'll see an “Unsaved recording found” banner — click Recover to save the file. Every second of a recording is written to disk as it happens.
“MP4 not supported” message. Your machine has no compatible H.264 encoder available. Switch the format toggle to WebM — quality is equivalent; you can convert to MP4 afterwards with any converter if needed.
Recording stopped by itself at 10 minutes. That's the free plan's per-recording limit. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited length, or start a new recording — free recordings are unlimited in number.
Microphone isn't in the recording. The mic toggle must be enabled before you press Record, and Chrome needs mic permission for the extension (you're prompted on first use). If you blocked it, click the 🎤 icon in Chrome's address bar on the permission page to unblock.
“Hardware encoder busy” notice. Your GPU supports a limited number of simultaneous MP4 encodes (usually 2). Additional tabs automatically record in WebM instead — nothing is lost.
Can't record a chrome:// page or the Web Store. Chrome blocks capture on its own internal pages for all extensions — this is a browser restriction, not a bug.
“Drive upload failed — saved locally instead.” The upload couldn't complete (network, expired sign-in), so the recording went to your Downloads folder — nothing is lost. To fix the connection, toggle Drive upload off and on, or use “Disconnect Google Drive” and reconnect.
Where do Drive uploads go? Into a TabRecorder folder at the root of your own Google Drive. When Drive upload is on, recordings upload there instead of saving to Downloads.
Licenses & billing
Where is my license key? It was emailed to you by Lemon Squeezy (our payment provider) right after purchase — search your inbox for “Lemon Squeezy”. Paste it into the popup under More settings → Pro.
Activation limit reached. A key works on up to 3 browsers at the same time. Use the Deactivate button in the popup on a device you no longer use to free a slot.
Manage or cancel a subscription. Use the link in your Lemon Squeezy receipt email to open the customer portal. Cancelling keeps Pro until the end of the paid period.
Refunds. We don't offer refunds — the free plan is fully functional and serves as the trial, so you can test everything before buying.
Privacy
Recordings never leave your device unless you enable Google Drive upload — then they upload to a TabRecorder folder in your own Drive instead of saving locally. No account, no analytics, no tracking — details in the privacy policy.
